Composite veneers

This type of veneer is usually recommended when the needs of the patient require slight modifications to correct small defects in the shape, color and size of the tooth.

In this process, it does not require any type of carving or light polishing of the teeth. For example when we need a slight touch-up of a single piece or at the end of orthodontics to leave the most aesthetic smile.

Composite veneers use an aesthetic resin similar to that used in fillings, except that we use fluid composite when using the DSD technique in which we have a template splint which guides us in the design previously made with the DSD protocol, and through this template splint the composite is injected, leaving the veneer exactly to the design made.

These types of veneers need maintenance and last less but are also done in a single session. Their repair is very simple and if it were necessary to remove them by not carving, we would have the teeth as they were initially. The price of composite veneers is lower than that of porcelain.

Porcelain veneers

Porcelain veneers are more advisable due to their resistance, their duration and a better aesthetic. They do not require any maintenance other than the usual usual brushing. They are indicated for severe cases of discoloration, chipped teeth fractures, separation between pieces (diastema), lack of space or uneven or poorly placed teeth. Patients with tetracycline stains for them are the best solution. Another reason for indication is the high smile and / or short teeth, with which some patients feel uncomfortable when, when smiling, they show a lot of gum.

Porcelain veneers have a higher price, but they are also the most natural result and the longest lasting, in addition to preserving the brightness and color of the teeth for a long time. Times vary as it needs to be performed in a laboratory, requiring several visits to the dentist.
